Don't forget the Rebates PDF Print E-mail

You've made the investment in new energy efficient appliances and you are seeing the difference in your utility bills. Have you fully taken advantage of Energy Star?

Many States still give rebates. Also if you recycle your old appliance properly you get an extra rebate. That makes the upgrades that much sweeter.

We would hope that the store that sold your appliance helped you get started to get your rebate.

You can also check http://www.ecorebates.com to see how much your state is allocating for Energy Star rebates.

As always, you can also get more info on the Energy Star Web Site.

Poll Results: Most would install alternative energy source. PDF Print E-mail

The unofficial results of our Poll, concludes that most of our readers would consider installing solar or wind power generation equipment if capital were available. Whatever the reason, may it be getting off the grid and self sustainable or just wanting to lower the monthly electric costs, it goes to show that alternative energy is a big consideration by many.  I myself would love to get off the electric grid or at least supplement our daily energy usage using solar or wind power.

Of course, having energy star appliances and plenty of insulation will significantly reduce the use of electricity. The experts say that having alternative energy does not mean you should be wasting it away either. Efficiency and reducing the amount of energy you use, becomes even more of an issue as you make your way to becoming self sustainable. With today's economic environment buying Energy Star rated appliance just makes good sense.

Rounding out the poll is the usage of alternative heating and cooling which got no votes here. I would say that this technology is still new to most and at a residential level would most likely not be considered. But at a commercial level there it has more positive implications.

Thanks to those of you who have participated in the poll. Stay tuned for our poll on composting.

The Ultimate Green List Revamped

Welcome to the redesigned Ultimate Green List.
Yes it may look very different from when you were here last. But it still contains the Green information you are looking for.

Over a year ago when the Ultimate Green List was first started the intent was to create a reference list of truly green companies and organizations. The old platform did a great job of presenting the information, but needed something else.  We have also been wanting to enhance the list with additional content and features.
We a created a whole new site on a more flexible platform. We are hoping this gives you, our visitors, easier access to the information you are looking for and an overall better surfing experience on our web site.

Accessing the Green List is now done via the "Browse Green List" link on the main menu. You can also start browsing the list via the categories on the left. In addition, we are also featuring a "recently added list" on the top of the page. Other features will be added.

Each business listing has an enhanced look and this will be the basic listing for companies and organizations. Enhanced features are available for the listings and will be show cased in the near future.

If your business was listed on the old site you may NOT find you company listing here. This is due to the fact that we are still transferring this information. We are hoping to complete this transfer in the next two weeks. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us via the link below.

Please browse the site and let us know what you think. Good and bad give us the input.

The Ultimate Green list still promotes sustainability and environmental conservation. If you need help marketing your green product or service out to the masses let us know. We are here to help.

Thanks for your continued support.

Robert
